Friday 17th October (Day 1)
A short journey of about forty miles to Narborough, Norfolk today. We left about noon and we were parked up at 1315, a small delay due to a collision on the A47. There is only nine other motorhomes here at the moment. After a light lunch we sat for a bit and then decided to catch a bus to Swaffham. Having got to the bus stop we changed our plan and decided other go a bit further to Dereham. Arriving there we strolled around the town with no real plan and nothing we saw really grab our attention. There was a well with some notable history: In the 13thc the Bishop of Ely removed a body of King Anna (or his wife). He did so to gain power in the area. Having moved the body the grave where she was buried had a spring appear which had ‘healing powers’. As such she was made a saint and he lost the power he had hoped for. After a coffee we caught a bus back to Swaffham where, after a short walk around, we had a pint before continuing the journey back to Narborough. This was in The Red Lion; we are not sure whether it was one of the drinkers or a general smell but it smelt of a men’s urinal! Returning to the motorhome we had our evening meal before going over to the Community Centre. Here we played bingo with the locals. It was a very different type of bingo than the MCC players. Fast and furious would sum it up. Eleven games for seven pounds entry. Not only was there the winning line but some games you needed one on the top line, two on the middle line and three on the bottom. It was good fun. After the games finished we returned to the motorhome for a bit of TV before bed.
Saturday 18th October (Day 2)
A good nights sleep and a grey but warm start to the day. After breakfast we had decided to catch the bus to Norwich. We caught the 1035 which almost ninety minutes later at 1200 deposited us in Norwich at the bus station. We spent a few hours strolling around the shops, market and a stop at a pub (The Lamb). Nearly all the pubs were rammed as it was a football day with Norwich at home. We had a good meal at the market (fish and chips / sausage and chips). By just after 1500 we agreed that staying around in Norwich had no longer any appeal. So the 1530 bus back to the site and 1700 saw us sitting with a G+T. 1900 had all of us in the community hall. We had brought photos of ourselves as young children / babies and the plan was to identify the picture to the person. Of the two dozen present I only knew about six so it was not a really good ‘game’. Playing card bingo and a couple of quizzes saw the evening out.
Sunday 19th October (Day 3)
