164 - Midsummer Madness
Wednesday 17th June (Day 1) Due to a funeral tomorrow we left around 1415 to park on the front of Chris and Carolyn K’s house. They are away. We chose here as it is only 30 minutes from tomorrows funeral. This means we have less chance of encountering traffic or M11 problems causing us issues. We were parked up by 1630. Having settled we walked to the New Barn for a pint and then back for a curry. England were playing Croatia (our potential nemesis) in the first match of the
Trip 163 - Van Life Festival
Wednesday 27th May (Day 1) Off to the Shropshire area to be near to the Festival weekend we had booked. We stopped at Druid’s Wood, Claverley, Shropshire. The approach was quite narrow and the village had pot holes to be in awe of. The site was a lovely flat area out of the main village but only a few minutes walk. We were met by the owner and soon settled in. Within half an hour Resa and Eric joined us. The temperature was around 25 degrees. A lunch and then a quiet sit in
Trip 162 - Stratford-on-Avon
Wednesday 29th March (Day 1) So tomorrow we are attending the Chausson Owners Group (COGers) Stratford-on-Avon meeting and have booked in to a CCC site at Weston Farm, Weston-on -Avon, a few miles away. We could not leave home until after 1400 as Ben, a near neighbour, was installing a new fence for us. It was then a two and a half hour journey which was really smooth and problem free. Having arrive at Weston-on-Avon we had an issue finding the site but after a couple of atte

Thursday 9th April (Day 1) Today we are off to meet Chris and Carolyn, our longest friends of over 50 years, who we haven’t seen since the 2nd August 2025. The site is an Independent camp site called The Brighthouse Farm Camp Site, at Lawshall, Norfolk. We left around 1120 and our first stop was the local Aldi to get the last minute items we needed. We should have arrived at the site by 1300 but when just a couple of miles from our destination we found the road that had road
Trip 160 - St Patrick's Meet and Haven
Friday 20th March (Day 1) So after having to buy a £300 tyre yesterday we finished packing and left for The Bickerton Poacher pub / campsite. We left at 0900 and 150 miles later at 1320 we pulled in to be greeted by the Van Club team. We were quickly set up and then sat out on the warm sunshine eating out lunch. A bit later we were joined by Chris, Graham and Maisie. After a chat we decided to take Maisie for a walk. I had planned a short one mile circular walk. Off we went a
Trip 159 - Fakenham Academy - Valentines Day Meet
Friday 13th February (Day 1) When will we learn? We are to going to Fakenham for a 1700 start at Fakenham Academy with the MCC (Anglia) for the Valentines Weekend. So we sat around at home until 1530 as it was just a 90 minute journey. The traffic was then shown as quite bad as it was (a) Friday traffic and (b) raining / wet weather conditions. So the thought was that we should have left earlier as we could have parked up nearby. That said the journey was quite good and by 17
