Sunday 27th June (Day 1)
So today we are off to a stopover near to River Motorhomes as the motorhome is having a small bit of damp repaired. We were in no rush and eventually left about 1245. A nice easy drive to Sweet Knowle CL, Wimpstone, Warwickshire, which is just outside of Stratfrord-Upon-Avon. I say an easy drive but just after Huntingdon Chris got caught at a red set of lights in the Quashqai. Then she misread / mis heard / the sat nav was wrong which resulted in her ending up on the A14 going East instead of West. TSeeing her not behind I drove at ‘lorry speed’ following a lorry for fifty miles waiting to see her catch me up (she never did until almost at the destination). Again her satnav showed traffic issues when on the M6 so she took a slightly different route from the M6. Anyway, as I was almost at Sweet Knowle she appeared behind me. Sweet Knowle has a very long drive and, eventually, we were settled around 1530. We had a late lunch (already prepared). We then jumped in the car and drove to The College Arms at Lower Quinton to watch the final of the Women’s Euros (England .v. Spain). It was 1-1 after extra time and the penalties went our way. We were two of only seven watching. Back tot he motorhome a bit of tv and then bed.
Monday 28th July (Day 2)
Up prompt and a fifteen minute drive to River Motorhomes. We left the motorhome with them and drove to Coventry for breakfast. I had wanted to visit Coventry for a long time and, well, it was a tad disappointing. We had difficulty finding a greasy spoon for breakfast and so ended up with a pleasant ‘Big Breakfast Ciabatta’ at M&S. I must admit it was good but a plate of fried grease would surely have been better! A visit to the old cathedral, still a shell from the last German Visit by some planes in the WWII. The new cathedral next to it was very nice. Being Monday the Transport Museum and Blitz Museum were closed! A stroll around the shops, a photo of the Lady Godiva statue and we bailed out for home. Again a good drive and home by 1330.
